Oppo is a new and emerging mobile phone company that has released a couple of mobile phones with interestingly unique features. One of their mobile phones, for example, have a rotating rear camera so that you can angle it to take that perfect shot. Other cameras offer a really slim profile; it is a very slim profile, in fact, that it is considered to be the thinnest mobile phone in the world.
Today, we are going to talk about another mobile phone offering from Oppo that enters the mid-range market. The Oppo Mirror 5 is an affordable mobile phone, but does it come with specs that you can see on more premium options? Let’s find out!
The design of the Oppo Mirror 5 is, to put it simply, shiny. It has a bi-metallic frame and that the back cover is made of durable plastic. Also, the front of the screen is made out of a durable glass material and it just shines, along with the back cover of the phone.
Oppo, as a company, has always been revered by a lot of people because of their attention to detail, and that is evident in the Oppo Mirror 5. Well, there is a little bit of drawback, or should I say, annoyance when it comes to shiny materials: they are prone to fingerprints. Still, this isn’t really a big concern since you can just wipe it off, but it is a little bit of a quirk for some people.
The usual volume control buttons and the power button are situated on the right side of the mobile phone. The buttons are carefully placed and they are within easy reach even for small hands. At the top of the phone, you will see the IR blaster and the 3.5mm headphone jack. At the bottom is the USB charging port, which a lot of mobile phones have that design as well.
As for the display of the mobile phone, the Oppo Mirror 5 comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a lowly resolution of only 960×540 and a pixel density of 220 ppi. You wouldn’t enjoy stunning visuals with this phone, so bear that in mind if you want to stream content on this mobile phone.
The processor of this mobile phone is adequate for modern day needs as it is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad-core processor with clock speeds of 1.2GHz. It also comes with the Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Even though the specs aren’t really powerful (at least compared to other high-end phones), the Oppo Mirror 5 is surprisingly snappy and gaming with the device is buttery smooth (I guess this is due to the low-resolution screen).
The camera of the Oppo Mirror 5 is okay, for the most part. It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. It comes loaded with a lot of different shooting modes to choose from, so you can take pictures to your heart’s content.
Lastly, the Oppo Mirror 5 comes equipped with the Android Lollipop operating system, which means that it comes with a very clean interface and menu navigation is quite smooth.
The Oppo Mirror 5 may not be up to par with high-end phones, but it does a pretty good job for a mobile phone with these specs. The Oppo Mirror 5 costs only $198.
